RCCG Peace Assembly: Be Thankful
November 2021: RCCG Peace Assembly GA

Bible Scriptures to Reference

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Thanksgiving should be our lifestyle.

Where you are today is where people are praying for today. When you give God it leaves your hand but not your life. Pastor Francis Tekobo

What does it mean to be Thankful?

  1. It means to be satisfied with how far God has brought you.

  2. Show appreciation and be grateful, delighted for what God has done with the little mercies God has shown you.

  3. To follow the example in Acts 3:1-8; John 4:34-42; Luke 7:36-50

There are two types of Thanksgiving

  1. General Thanksgiving: Psalm 107:10-16 -> Your attitude towards the General Thanksgiving (Psalm 107:15)

  2. Special Thanksgiving: Psalm 1241:1; 2 Chronicles 7:5;12 -> Parting with something of special value which keeps heaven open for your breakthrough. It gets heaven to expedite his blessings for us.

Why should you be thankful?

  1. You belong to a winning team: This church is a church of covenant - A team where things are working (onaga) - 1 Sam 17 all the way to v.49 (Story of David & Goliath) - sickness, breakdown, and sorrow are not permitted in your life. - 2 Tim 1:4; Ephesians 3:20; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Hebrews 7:25; Jude 1:24; Genesis 29:35

  2. God is always on time: He is never late no matter how barren or how difficult the desert is in your life. Psalm 17:8; Psalm 23:4-5; Numbers 13:1-2; 27-28 (they saw grapes, pomegranates).

  3. Each time you thank God, you are making a statement to the Devil soon your faith based on what God can do for you as the Sovereign God.

Conclusion

The more you complain, the further you keep yourself from God.
