Bible Scriptures to Reference

Text: 1 John 5:4 (NIV)

for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

What is the definition of faith?

Faith in God is what is needed at every point in life when you don't know what to do. Have faithfulness in Him.

John 6:28-29 (MSG)

28 To that they said, “Well, what do we do then to get in on God’s works?”
29 Jesus said, “Sign on with the One that God has sent. That kind of a commitment gets you in on God’s works.”

Many of us don't exercise faith to get what we can possess.

Romans 4:19-20 (MSG)

19-25 Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That’s why it is said, “Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right.” But it’s not just Abraham; it’s also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.

Hebrews 11:11 (MSG)

11-12 By faith, barren Sarah was able to become pregnant, old woman as she was at the time, because she believed the One who made a promise would do what he said. That’s how it happened that from one man’s dead and shriveled loins there are now people numbering into the millions.

What does it mean to be faithful?

- To be trusted

- Responsible

- Reliable

- Consistent

- Loyal

- True

- Constant

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)

9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Isaiah 11:5 (NIV)

5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

Focus on

- The Word of God

- Relationships with people

Psalms 89:33 (NIV)

33 but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.

Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV)

27 “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

2 Timothy 1:12 (NIV)

12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

Psalms 24:8 (NIV)

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

James 1:17 (NIV)

17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Isaiah 49:9 (NIV)

9 to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’
“They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.

Isaiah 3:10 (NIV)

10 Tell the righteous it will be well with them,
for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

Job 23: 13 (NIV)

13 “But he stands alone, and who can oppose him?
He does whatever he pleases.

Each time you put your trust in God, God will reveal Himself.

Our health doesn't last forever.

In this world of ceaseless change, there is no one that says what they will do every single time but God. Only God can deliver us. He knows every situation of our life. Only God is 100% faithful.

Numbers 23:19 (NIV)

19 God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

1 Cor 1:9 (NIV)

9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 36:5 (NIV)

5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.

Isaiah 41:10-12 (NIV)

10 So do not fear,for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. 12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.

The God we serve is not limited by anything. Look at David as a prime example (Psalm 4:3;8)

Psalms 56:4 (NIV)

4 In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?

Psalms 57:1 (NIV)

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.

What do we enjoy by having God on our side?

  • The Lord knows what's best for you: God doesn't make any mistake (Isaiah 46:10)

People who are always at the top are always the topic.

Joshua 21:43-44 (NIV)

43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands.

Facts about Faith to Note Today

  1. Failure is never final for a man/woman of faith: Matthew 21:22-28

  2. Every mountain and problem of life that seems impossible, always will answer to faith when it's exercised: 1 Sam 17 (story of David & Goliath)

  3. Faith is the root of divine intervention and blessing. Nothing happens in life unless there's faith.

  4. Love makes faith work. Love energizes faith to work in its highest level: Galatians 5:6

  5. Forgiveness is needed for your faith to work: Mark 11:26; Mark 11:22-23

  6. Faith works by praying: Acts 16:25

  7. Faith is risky but highly rewarding: Jude 1:3; Hebrews 11:33-34

  8. Faith is there to solve problems and provide solutions.

Conclusion

When you pray with violent & confident faith, God will always answer you - Psalm 125:1; Numbers 14:6-10

Whatever God speaks, happens.

You must look beyond what you see and see what God sees.

Pray: 2 Kings 6:24-25
