Main Text: Joshua 1:6-7;9

It is a choice we will have to make this year. We need to be strong and courageous: Psalm 91

What does it mean to be courageous?

  1. It means to be bold and daring. Having God's Grace when you're under pressure. It's a state of the mind that allows you to face the challenges of life.

Examples of people that were courageous in the Bible

What are their characteristics?

  • They are change agents; They change a nation, generation, etc.

  • They have the ability to see beyond their expectations

  • They have faith in God, not in themselves; Watch their statements and actions. They understand their place in God: Daniel 3:16 0 Their concept of God is that God is Able. When God says something, it comes to pass.

  • They die for a greater cause: They have a purpose that is worth the cost of their lives: John 13:34 (Ex. Jesus)

  • They possess unusual/supernatural powers (Ex. Samson): Acts 2:1-4
